The Song of Frenchman Bay, Summer 2022

Many of you reading this know that I’ve been in a deep-dive these past several years, an immersion in the world of Evolutionary Astrology. In recent months, as I’ve begun to apprentice with my teacher, I’ve started to offer Birth Chart Readings to people interested in learning more about their own Soul’s Map.

As with anything I throw myself into whole-heartedly, it’s become all-encompassing… AND… as I continually strive to learn and evolve from my tendencies, I’m really trying to pace myself so as to prevent overwhelm or worse, burnout.

But I must say, this is all-encompassing because it’s absolutely thrilling! The depths of self-study, self-understanding, self-compassion and healing that have emerged from this astrology endeavor is exponentially greater than any other I’ve taken on in my life to date. Which says a lot, given (the years of therapy and) the profound experiences of growth and evolution I’ve had in the Art world and that of Iyengar Yoga… both of which were utterly transforming for my Soul in so many significant ways. That Evolutionary Astrology is topping all that? And at what feels like lightning speed? Staggering. I find myself saying a lot these days, “I can hardly keep up with my own life!”

Needless to say, a little “break from it all” during my birthday week was much needed and very much appreciated. And blessedly, yielded yet more aha moments and insights.

I could not have dreamed up a more perfect setting for the week. In my previous post, “33 Seconds,” I shared the extraordinary experience of our first night there. Below, I share some pictures of the setting.

And I share this poem that emerged as a result of the quiet day after my birthday, sitting down with the packet of poems and prompts from the poetry course I’m currently enrolled in, “Sacred Everyday” led by poets Danusha Lemeris and James Crews. James’ poem, “Hermit Thrushes at Dusk” and the writing prompt, an invitation to sit and just listen to the sounds around you for a full 15 minutes before picking up the pen to write, inspired and allowed this to come through:

And if you’re interested in learning what it means for Jupiter to dance with Chiron in Aries or in which House Aries is in your Birth Chart, you can book a Reading with me here!

P.S. The house was on its own island, accessed only by a footbridge and approximately quarter-mile path through the woods. You had to park your car, leave it at the start of the bridge, load up all your luggage onto a big wagon, and pull that to the house!
